SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!

Well, it snowed today, only like 5 mins and you can´t see anything anymore, but there was snow! As I said the hole season, we will get some snow here, so that i can finally fullfill my trick: jumping from our winter garden, maybe trying my first ever 360!!!! :-) but, to stay realistically, i would need like 2 meters of snow, and we hadn´t that much snow in like 30 years (according to my dad) and it is supposed to get 20°C on Tue already. :-( but hey, hope dies last!

Yeeeah, after two weeks of waiting and pretty high delivery charges, the movie finally came in. :-)
It gets four out of five stars. One star less as it is only 45 mins..
What I liked most about it are the Intros. Like every rider gets his own intro which is pretty funny too! For example, they once make fun of that snowboarders are stupid and ask: how many snowboarders does it take to change a lightbulb? i have never seen a snowboard movie with something like that in it. Good thing about that is as well, that you know the rider who is riding and stuff.
Well, that was another awesome Isenseven movie, only too short and slightly too expensive, but worth a watch.  :) Watch the Trailer. Also check out Ethan´s Re-edit

Quiksilver Spring Battle

The Quiksilver Spring Battle at Flachau Winkl, Austria was on yesterday. The finals got cancelled due to bad weather conditions and heavy winds. Anyways, they have an awesome way to judge the contest: It is in the evening and every rider has to get up on stage, pick on out of three runs and the judges judge him then. Super good, and the crowd had been amazing. The comentators were Henry Jackson, my favourit comentator and and Aussie, I didn´t knew.
Results: On of my favourites, Seppe Smits, won the chip of 50 grand for the second time in a row with a Cab 1260, Nuuti Nimela got second, with a Cab 1260 as well and Eric Willet third.
Btw, Cheers to the Bar in Belgium, where they give free drinks whenever Seppe wins. This was as well the first comp in the season 2012/13 and of course Seppe leads so far. :)

The Art of flight

Hey folks, today I wanna talk about "THE ART OF FLIGHT" you´ve probs heard a lot about the movie, but it´s just too good! I have seen it like a thousand times and still love it. Travis Rice is, for sure, one if not the best snowboarder on earth. His style is unbelievably good, he is going down the hill like no other snowboarder on earth.
To the movie, let´s start with the music. The music is the best in the movie! mostly the naked and famous, well, it´s my favourite band, but also M83 and Deadmau5. I love Indie, Alternative and Electro, but that´s a matter of taste.
The camera is awesome! i don´t think there had ever been a camera technic used like this. Such a great quality and also a lot of slow motion.
The movie itself shows every part, apart from competitions, of snowboarding. Like the importance of the friendships between the snowboarders, it´s shown pretty good., and that they also do have a lot of fun. Like Scotty Lago is the jester of the group. It is so funny watching this guy! And also the relationship between the boarder and the mountains. That you always need to respect the mountains, otherwise you could get burried pretty easily. It is the love-hate relationship you see. Like you see Scotty Lago breaking his jaw for example, but no matter how bad they are injured, they don´t give up and want to improve.
To the riders: We have, of course, Travis Rice. He is the godfahter, i don´t think there is anything to add.
Scotty Lago: Another awesome rider! Good at comps as well, won the Toyota Big Air in Japan earlier this season. He is the funniest guy of the group, always good for a joke. He has as well an awesome style. Like the best backside rodeo ever.
John Jackson: also known as Marley or Rasta. His hair is soo funny.
Nicolas Müller: the swiss legend. WOW. i like this guy soo muuuuuuch!!!!!
Pat Moore, Mark Landvik, Jeremy Jones, Kylce Clancy, The Mitrani boys and many many moore. As you can see, this are some heavy as names! They really have brought snowboarding to the next level. I think every snowboarder out door adores at least one of them. It is incredible how good they are. Riding down back country slopes like they´d be nothing. The tricks you see in the movie, marvellous.

The only thing i didn´t like about the movie is, that ther is sometimes too much footage of the landscape and stuff.
In my opinion, it is the best movie i have ever seen and it is worth every frickin cent.

The importance of a helmet

Hey folks, make sure you are always wearing the right helmet. I have a concussion right now due to a wrong helmet. as my helmet got screwed when a big branch was falling on my head coz i was adheared on a tree while riding powder in a wood. I was good afterwards, but my helmet had obvious damage. I decided not to change it as i haven´t been falling on my head for 3 years now. wrong decision. Went snowboarding to Semmering 10 days ago. It was like the worst snow ever, but super warm. THe snow was ALL artificial with loads of ice underneat. Was super stoked of the snowpark as i could hit the rails and some jumps. But then I got wrong onto a rail and fell off right onto my back and head. But as stupid as I am, didn´t stopped boarding and still hit some jumps and drank Alcohol at the Apres Ski what made it even worse. I am still lying down not allowed to: study, do sport, watch TV, shouldn´t even be on the Computer. So pplz, make sure your helmet is ok! A concussion is not funny. :-(

Euro X-Games

Hey there, unfortuneatly it is the end of the season. prob not the best date to start a Snowboard blog. ;-) anyways, euro x-games were going down last week at Tignes, France. I couldn´t watch them as 1. the stream didn´t work and 2nd I had to go to work and Uni. Shaun White had pretty much dominated them as he got 1st at Superpipe and Slopestyle. I can´t say anything bout the judges but i heard it was a bit unfair. Mr. McLovin  (Mark Mcmorris) got second. In my eyes, he is the best youngster out there. He has the best tricks, can´t always stomp them, but they are awesome and he is good at powder riding as well. Another highlight was as well, iPods attempt of a  Switch Backside Double Mactwist.
